(More customer reviews)This feeder replaced a large, three column-nine perch feeder that we had been using since last fall. I decided to try and slow down the onslaught of big birds to our feeders. The prior feeder (and thus the backyard) was being ruled by blue jays, grackles, mourning doves, etc. So I put the large feeder away and replaced it with this one. It took some time, but it has worked. We still get some of the big birds every now and then, but our small birds are finally back. The turnover did take some time, but I don't think it was becase of any problem with the new feeder.
This feeder has decent seed capacity (especially when feeding mostly smaller birds) and is easy to assemble (although getting the baffle on required some strength). We have another feeder on our four-armed feeding system that the birds seem to prefer to this one still, but that seems to be changing with time. The baffle keeps the seed dry, and is can be moved up and down on the feeder to your liking. Our pole system is fairly squirrel-proof (if there is such a thing!), so I have not seen a squirrel with the feeder to know if the baffle would keep them out. Seems as though it would, though.
