I have a 4 hanger feeding station in my back yard that includes a suet feeder, squirrel-be-gone hopper feeder, a glass ball hummingbird feeder, and this unit. The watering areas are small enough that birds can't sit in it and make it a mess. Fresh water trickles down to the watering stations as needed. Once a week I toss it and the other feeders in the dishwasher with a cup of vinager on "quick rinse", towel dry and hang back up. I will never go back to the slimey pedistal models again. I think this is a far healthier and convenient way to water my feathered friends.
