(More customer reviews)These clear ant moats work like a charm. Simply hang above your feeder and keep filled with water. Ants can't swim, so they can't get across to climb down to your feeder. Clear models make it easy to see if the water inside has evaporated or if it needs cleaning (the curved bottom makes it easy to clean). The "junior" model shown here is a smaller one; go with the deeper model to fight evaporation.
Also, keep in mind that the standing water in any ant moat can harbor mosquito larvae, and if not changed, will eventually turn green. So change the water whenever you fill your nectar feeder, and/or consider using Cutter Backyard Mosquito Control Tablets which are safe for use in bird baths. You could probably get away with 1/4 tablet in this small moat.
